Happy New Year

Perfect Man is Released

www.ellorascave.com

Alex Nichols’ sister sets him up on a blind date with the perfect man, a man who has haunted his dreams for ten years. Craig Fontaine was his fantasy as far back as high school, but Craig did his best to humiliate him then over coming out. Now ten years later they both have successful careers and Craig claims to be gay. At first Alex is certain this is Craig’s version of a joke, but it soon becomes clear things have changed in ten years. Craig really is gay and hotter than ever. But Craig has a dark past that threatens their future and Alex may lose his perfect man before they have their chance at happily ever after.

December 29, 2008

This week marks the end of 2008,

On December 31, 2008, Perfect Man is my final 2008 release. I'm excited about this particular release because I believe it is some of my best work.

For 2009, I already have several releases in the works. The first one for 2009 is At Long Last and I think that might be my finest work to date. I'm proud of all my upcoming releases though, including a few I have yet to write.

This week I hope to do a little work on Sorcerer's Lover 2.

December 26, 2008

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I know I did.

Today is the last day to read my little short holiday story for Pulling Away on my website. I'll be replacing it with an excerpt from an upcoming story.

Next week, New Year's Eve, Perfect Man is released.

December 22, 2008

I really have nothing to say this week other than I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday week whether it is Christmas you celebrate or Chanukah or maybe even both. Or even something else entirely.

Pulling Away Holiday Short

For fans of my Amber Kiss story, Pulling Away, I have added a very short holiday snippet on my website involving Noah and Charlie. Nothing huge, just a cute little thing. You'll see if you read it. And if you read my story, Pulling Away. Only available until December 26, 2008 and then it comes down.

You can find it under the Excerpts tab on http://www.authorshawnlane.com/

December 18, 2008

It's hard to believe Christmas is only a week away.

It snowed here in Southern California last night. Yes, it did. Woke up to the hills nearby covered in the white stuff. This just does not happen here, so it is quite something to see. It's been quite cold, too. Yeah, yeah, I know for us. But snow is snow and it is cold.

Absolutely nothing new to report. Just working on Jake's Regret. It's going well.

December 16, 2008

Some more progress made on Jake's Regret. Over 6,000 words and still working on their first sex/love scene. Things are going to get a little angsty before I let them have their HEA (and yes, it should be that rather than the HFN scenario). Will it be done at the end of the month? I hope so. Won't be able to work on it tonight. Christmas shopping calls. Tomorrow night is out too. Hopefully I can get some good work done after that though and over the weekend.

Only about two weeks to go before the release of Perfect Man. My last 2008 release. Can't wait!

December 15, 2008

I'm done with my edits on The Other Side (or at least I hope so). I ended up adding nearly 3,100 words to it.

Now hopefully I can get back to Jake's Regret. I lost a few days on it, but I still have hope of finishing it by the end of the year.

December 12, 2008

So I got my edits for The Other Side and there are some things I need to tweak so that means working on that instead of Most Likely To Succeed. Yes, I started Thomas and Clark's story and so far they have been fun to write. But alas, they must wait.

I still plan on working diligently on Jake's Regret though. The good news with that story is I now know what is going to happen for the whole book. When I first began writing it I hadn't a clue where I was taking Jake and Damian, but I do now.

I even have most of Most Likely To Succeed figured out.

So, on to the tweaks for The Other Side.

I added a Frequently Asked Questions (faq) to my site, www.authorshawnlane.com site so check it out if you get the chance. I'll update it as needed.

December 10, 2008

Just two weeks until Christmas Eve. Are you done with your shopping? Me neither.

Working on Jake's Regret, my tale of reunited lovers and former football players, Jake and Damian. Not nearly as far as I'd like to be but I am heading toward the first sex scene. I have plans to make it just a bit different with them than my other couples. I won't say here. You'll have to read it in March when it comes out.

Sent in my cover request for Trust. Now I just wait to get it. Since I won't even get edits until February, I figure it will be at least that long before I see a cover. Ellora's Cave has done fabulous covers for me though so I am sure this one will be great as well.

Trust Has a Home

I can officially announce that Trust has sold to Ellora's Cave, yeah! I couldn't be happier, of course. I loved working on Brad and Justin's story. Brad is one of my favorite heroes that I have created. Very complex guy.

I don't have a release date or anything but my editor said I wouldn't get edits until February. That should be perfect actually.

Tomorrow I am blogging over at Amber Quill's blog.

A Knight For All is now available

A Knight For All is now available at Amber Quill.

This is my medieval menage I wrote as part of the Three is Always Company Pax.

And in other new, Perfect Man has appeared on the coming soon pages for Ellora's Cave. I'm proud of that book!

December 03, 2008

So I finally started Jake's Regret. I've got a bit over 1,000 words or so. Usually I love starting books but not so this time. Not sure why. I think what I have is good, actually.

I think part of it is because I really want to start Most Likely To Succeed and Car Wash. Car Wash doesn't even have to be written for months but I want to work on it anyway. And Most Likely To Succeed needs to be done in a couple of months but still Jake's Regret needs to be done THIS month.

Maybe because I don't have much of a plot planned. Just lovers who were apart for years and are reunited. Ah, well, I must do it.

I've made the mistake of reading some other authors books lately. I say mistake because it reminds me of my shortcomings! Will I ever get that good? Sigh.

December 02, 2008

Good news day for me.

Pulling Away is the #3 best seller for the month of November on the Amber Quill's Allure site. Not bad, considering it came out three days before the end of the month. I am ridiculously proud of that little book, but some of the very positive remarks I've received make me wish I had made it longer. Ah, well, Noah and Charlie can be seen again in Kevin's book, Car Wash, coming next year.

And It's Only Make-Believe is #7 on the Heat side. Considering it came out in October, I am very pleased. It has also done very well on the All Romance Ebook site.

And I have finally signed the contract for Trust and it is winging its way to the publisher. I haven't made an official announcement but if you check out my website under my publishers it won't be too hard to figure out who offered for Trust. I am very happy indeed.

And speaking of, since my site isn't always easy to locate but this blog is, here is the url.

December 01, 2008

December brings with it two releases from me.

This coming weekend is the release of my one and only menage, A Knight For All, from Amber Quill. I hope readers will enjoy the tale of Edward, Katherine and Sir Gregory.

Then, literally on the last day of the month, December 31, is the release of Perfect Man from Ellora's Cave. It seems so long ago now that I wrote the story of Craig and Alex. Definitely one of my favorites that I have written and a hot cover, too.

I will be working on Jake's Regret for most of the month. A tale of reunited lovers, Jake and Damian, both former football players. That one should be out in March.

I got another couple of chapters done on Beyond the Norm so that one's now over 10,000 words and not close to finish. Since I have to work on Most Likely To Succeed after Jake's Regret I am not sure when I will get more on Beyond the Norm but I will try.

And within the next couple of months I'd like to start Stephen Fitzroy's story. I plan, at this point, on making it more like a novella lengh, which I think is a rosette or something. Anyway, my plan is to have his heroine fall out of a tree and into his arms.
