Ordered a new desktop computer this weekend. Should be here by the end of the month. I am through screwing around so I bought one with 1 TB memory, which trust me is mega memory. This is often used by gamers who play graphic heavy games online. I also am getting a shiny flat screen LCD monitor. Beautiful screen. I shall be petting it when it arrives.
The laptop is doing well but I admit I am tempted to get a new one. I will try to resist as there is nothing wrong with the one I have.
However, when the desktop took a motherboard dive, it took with it the wireless router. The router isn't broken (I don't think) but it does need to be reset. So, at the moment I cannot sit comfortably on the couch with my laptop but instead must sit at the computer desk with it plugged into the highspeed wireless cable.
I assure you I will be extremely happy when everything is back to normal. Right now, I am grumpy.

ReplyDeleteI had a perfectly good laptop and picked up a second one earlier this year. But I just have laptops, so having two isn't that much different than you having a desktop and a laptop.
Hmm. Maybe you could justify a new laptop by donating the old one someplace... (Rationalizing book and tech purchases is one of my skills!)
Yeah I figured if I had to buy a new desktop I might as well get the 1 TB. It better be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I'll at least get a new laptop by next year. I've only had this one a couple of year and it seems to have plenty of memory on it but I love new things.
I wish I had a new PC too *sigh* At the moment it's at the shop, it died last week :(

Congrats on the new computer! My laptop works just fine, but I find myself looking at shiny, new ones all the time. I do love buying gadgets.

Of course, after using your new desktop, the laptop's going to feel like it's on its last legs. :) My newest laptop has quad core but the same amount of memory, and holy crap, everything happens so much faster...

Having the larger hard drive makes a hell of alot of difference... Living with gamers - I know I couldn't live without it..
