Only His Heart will be released May 23, 2010.
In other "only" news, eventually the stories in the series will form a paperback collection to be called
Only Forever. Not sure about timing on that yet as there is a distinct possibility of a fourth story called
His One and Only.
That is awesome, Shawn. Congrats on finding out so soon. Even better to hear that there will be a fourth book. That will be in May, right? and print in June? lol Just kidding; not awake yet and still dreaming. I know there are others you have to work on first, including The Same Side.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Sharon
In all honesty His One and Only would come before The Same Side. I know, I know, I keep promising that one. I absolutely intend to get to it this year.
ReplyDeleteA book a month is a nice trade off. Just keep them all coming. Try to breath in between, :) Looks like this is going to be a good year for you.
ReplyDeleteSharon
Wow, that's great news!^^ And a fourth book? I like to hear that, I'm so looking forward to this series!
ReplyDeleteThanks, T.T.
ReplyDeleteIt's really been a fun series to write.
The 4th one involves an African American workaholic lawyer and a rather short ordinary gift shop owner.
That is some fast work woman...
ReplyDeleteBetween one post and the next we get a release date....
thank you.....
I second that book a month plan.....
Congrats on the release date news...
E.H>
Well I must make up for the lack of releases the first two months of the year, lol
ReplyDeleteAnd what a nice way to make it up, not that you had anything to make up for :) We just love everything you write. Drooling already. Not fair; patience is not a virtue of mine, lol. Well off for Chinese, anyone hungry?
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day.
Sharon
Awesome! You got a May release date!
ReplyDeleteAnd you already have a cool title for Mark's book. You always come up with the best titles :)
Now my goal is to get something out in June, lol
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I know I can't wait to read them. Too bad you can't get cutie pie Ashtyn on the cover. YUMMY!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linds. I'm afraid even begging doesn't get me Ash on my covers. We just have to love him here.
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Shawn! I've been following your blog these past couple of weeks and the news keeps getting better and better! I'm thrilled that you think this series is going to be in print, too!
ReplyDeleteI wish Ashton could be on your covers to! I've been drooling over Ashton, sigh, at least we can have him on your blog... ;-P
Thanks, Gabbi.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have some books coming out. January and February are difficult for me, lol
SWEET!
ReplyDeleteGreat news all around. But I'm so curious...how do you always submit something fresh off the printer and not only get a contract but an actual release date (and sometimes even a cover, LOL) within days of finishing? Is that standard operating procedure for all publishers these days or is this rare?
ReplyDeleteAnnon,
ReplyDeleteSorry, it's only for Amber Quill. I am an "invited" author. I proposed the series so it was approved in advance. All my stories at Amber Quill are.
Other publishers are completely different
Actually, Annon, thanks for the question. I never thought about it before but others might be curious.
ReplyDeleteAny time I announce I am writing something for AQ it is preapproved, pretty much contracted in advance of completion. AQ is only waiting for me to complete it and submit it with the various required forms before giving me a release date.
This is not the norm, but AQ is by invitation only, not just anyone can submit to them.
If I were to come up with something new for say Ellora's Cave, I would have to go through a regular submission process (although directly to my editor there not the slush) and wait for so many days/weeks to get an answer as to whether it is accepted.
Hope this clears up any confusion as to why I can give you a release date as soon as I say I am done and submitted to Amber Quill.
That's terrific news, Shawn. Thanks for posting Ashtyn. I love him.
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds terrific. I wish all pubs had the same procedures. I hate waiting months and months for an answer only to have the story rejected, and all the while it could have been submitted elsewhere. Now, who does one have to bribe (or kill) to get into AQP? LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Drew, sweetie. Thanks and good to see you even briefly. My next only book features a "Drew" as one of the heroes. Of course I thought of you.
ReplyDeleteAnnon,
ReplyDelete:)
In my case I was one of the winners of Amber Quill's last heat wave contest. That's how I became one of their authors.
Now you have to be invited when the boss man checks out your published works elsewhere and sends you an invite. I think it's pretty rare.
