Yep...It Is Monday Somewhere

So the weekend was a mixed bag for me.

I did manage to finish another chapter of The Beach House. That’s good. It took me way too long to write it though. Hopefully the rest will go better or I won’t meet my deadline of Memorial Day (MY deadline, not AQs).

Saturday I went to a party and of course there was a young man who attends the Coast Guard academy to inspire me. Very polite. I mentioned him to Ava and of course she insists he will have to be a character one day. We’ll see. He’d have to make his appearance next year along with the Elvis Impersonator Vegas story (that’s two different stories, lol).

Also this weekend I ordered myself a new laptop. Yeah, yeah, really there isn’t anything wrong with the one I have. The keys sometimes stick but it’s nothing I couldn’t live with. I have absolutely no excuse for it. I just wanted to. Sigh. Bad, bad me.

I still didn’t get to spend any time talking to Shayne. I need a bff who isn’t so busy, I guess. Ah, well. Such is life.

I desperately need to go grocery shopping and probably should have gone on Sunday, but I didn’t. It’s one of those things I tend to procrastinate about. How about you? Anyway, I will probably stop on the way home from the edj.

Not much going on this week. Contest for Only His Heart is still on through Friday. Hopefully writing-wise will be productive. I’d like to get two chapters done by a week from now at least. Wish me luck!

  1. I'm a total grocery store procrastinator. I'll get pizza then take out then go to a restaurant (which all usually result in leftovers...yes, it's all part of my procrastination master plan). Then when the leftovers are gone, I'll go to the grocery store. It's just annoying to go to the grocery shopping. Lol I like going to Target, though, and luckily they have milk and basic staples, else my cupboards would be really sad.

The polite Coast Guard cutie really does need to make an appearance in a future book ;)

  2. Do they have grocery delivery where you live?

I mostly shop at a co-op, which can be crowded, but at least has a really interesting mix of people to watch. :)

  3. I tend to procrastinate on the food shopping, too.

Good luck with your writing and deadlines. The ideas for 2011 stories sounds cool.

  4. I'm glad to see I'm not alone on the food shopping avoidance. I think they do have delivery but it seems like such a waste of money!

  5. Poor Shayne. I think we're all busy this time of year.
I hate going to the grocery store. That's why take out is the main staple in our house!

  6. Yes I am probably being too hard on Shayster.

  7. We do the opposite. We always go together. We make going to the store an adventure, although we always have fun together.
I love take out food, but homemade is better, especially if it's my partners. (wink)
Don't be too hard on your Shayne. Sometimes my best friend and I go weeks without connecting which each other like we like to do.

  8. Nick you lucky man!
The grocery store isn't an adventure for me. Of course hubby would rather not go with me, so I get to do it alone. I buy lots of food at once so I don't have to go as often.
Beachhouse is going to be wonderful!
I'll take Shayne if you don't want him. Just kidding! He is a doll though. No wonder you miss him when you don't have time to talk. I hope this week will be better.
    Have a nice day!

  9. Nicky, you are very lucky that your partner likes to go to the store AND cooks. Mine cooks but HATES the store, lol. Grrr.

Nah, Dorothy, I am keeping Shayne (altho Jack might fight me, lol). I do miss him though, sigh. Life is boring without him!

  10. I'm sorry you're having BFF withdrawals! I'm sure he'll get back to you as soon as he can.

    I hate grocery shopping. Yuck!

  11. I accidentally deleted my post. I think it's one of those days!
We hate going to the grocery store too!
Congrats on getting so much writing done! I'm still working on mine!

  12. No worries, I got rid of it.

Yeah, Andi, your deadline really is Memorial day too, poor thing. I know you can do it.

It's funny my dad loved grocery shopping when he was alive. His first date with my mom was at a grocery store. How nuts is that? lol

  13. That's so cool, Shawn!

I know everyone will make their deadlines. I'm ready for all of these books to be published

  14. You know what I'll be doing Memorial Weekend! It's coming along, but it's been a slow process. I think I'm putting to much pressure on myself. :(

The beachhouse is going to be great! I can't wait to read it:)

  15. Just do your best, Shell, that's all you can do.

  16. Hope you have since connected with the BFF...

I do understand BFF withdrawals.. but it will end.

Just go shopping and get it over with... it cost me more money not to go than to go...

and I do hate it as well..

  17. Yes, I have semi-connected. Limited due to the bandaged finger issue!
